MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a bank in Barry County was robbed on Tuesday.
It happened just before 1 p.m. at the Chemical Bank in the 300 block of Arlington Street, near Sherman Street in Middleville.
Deputies say a black man went into the bank and demanded money. He drove away in a gray sedan with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Barry County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was wearing black pants, a black coat with the hood pulled up and sunglasses, deputies say.
Investigators say the man was last seen in the area of Arlington and Thornton streets, leaving westbound on Thornton Street.
As a precaution, Thornapple Kellogg Schools were under a shelter in place for a short time after the robbery. By 2 p.m., the safety precaution was lifted.
