1 hospitalized in Grand Rapids stabbing; suspect arrested

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a person was severely injured in a stabbing in northwest Grand Rapids Tuesday night.

Grand Rapids Police Sgt. Dan Adams confirmed to News 8 that it happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday on National Avenue NW between Jackson and Sibley streets.

He said the victim was taken to the hospital with a severe injury and underwent surgery. Their current condition is unknown.

One suspect was taken into custody, according to Adams.

Police did not provide any information on what led to the stabbing, which remains under investigation.
