The NHL suspended New York Rangers ahead Matt Rempe on Sunday for eight video games for his hit on Dallas Stars defenceman Miro Heiskanen.
The incident occurred throughout the third interval of the Rangers’ 3-1 highway win towards the Stars on Friday.
Rempe obtained a five-minute main for elbowing and a sport misconduct, marking his fourth ejection in his 22-game profession.
Heiskanen, who was hit from behind, was sluggish to rise up.
It was Rempe’s first sport with New York since Nov. 25. He was recalled from the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack final Wednesday after the Rangers traded Kaapo Kakko to the Seattle Kraken.
The 22-year-old Rempe has zero factors and 24 penalty minutes in 5 video games with the Rangers this season whereas averaging simply over six minutes of ice time.
He has now been suspended twice for elbowing in his profession. The six-foot-nine ahead obtained a four-game suspension in March 2023 after successful on Devils defenceman Jonas Siegenthaler.
